Humanity
I am drawn to the duality inherent in humanity—our capacity for both cruelty and compassion, hatred and kindness. Throughout history, people have alienated and harmed those they don't understand or refuse to understand, blaming others for hardships that were never their fault.
My work, particularly pieces centering on transgender and LGBTQIA+ experiences, challenges this impulse toward othering.
As a nonbinary lesbian, I create from a place of lived experience, but my concerns extend beyond my own community to encompass racial inequality, genocide, and the climate crisis.
