A few years ago I had a dream about a donkey in a field.  Suddenly, the drums of war sounded, breaking the peace.  The donkey looked up and saw a line of tanks on the horizon.  It tried to run, but could only go so far.  But the donkey was young, and ready to fight.  So it turned to face the tanks, and survive.

Then the scene shifted, and that donkey, now old, is in the same field.  The drums of war sounded again, and once again the donkey looks up to find a line of tanks on the horizon.  It tried to run again, but it was old and tired.  The wind swirled around the donkey, as if to say one last goodbye, and then it was gone, and the donkey was alone as the violence marched toward it.

I drew this out as a protest to the genocide Israel is committing against Palestine.  Donkeys are a symbol of survival and resilience.  The people of Palestine have suffered horrors as Israel commits this genocide against them while the world seemingly just shrugs it off.  They've been forced to stare death in the face, and yet, despite the atrocities, the destruction, and the death, they have kept going.

The world needs to stand with Palestine, and stop Israel from continuing on its path of terror.

Drawn in 2025.
